At Westerbork, everyone was sent to the Punishment Barracks for hiding. One month later, everyone who lived in the Annex were sent to Auschwitz-Bierkenau in Poland. Six weeks later, Anne and Margot were sent to Bergen-Belsen in Germany
There was a typhus epidemic in Bergen Belsen. Margot died in late February or early March from malnutrition. Anne died a few days later from typhus.
