I am a teacher and I have tons of teachers in my family. Our advice is to go with food/ consumables. Even if the person doesn’t eat that particular thing it is an easy thing to share. Don’t spend on a mug or perfume or ornament. But _do_ write a nice note saying just what you say hear about your daughter is important to you and that you feel comfort in knowing she is in good hands. We love the cards and notes and same them for years. Include a picture of your daughter if you have one handy because we look through these on bad days and they cheer us up. Don’t feel bad about the expense. What we really want is respect and a little lovin’ (maybe with chocolate thrown in).

Filling a basket with homemade food is always something nice. If you don’t have the money to spend, put time into it. Just keep in mind that many parents are strapped for cash this year and they may be receiving a lot of homemade treats. I’d opt for something on the healthy side.

You could make a fruit basket and cover it with clear plastic… My grocery store has 3 lb sacks of apples for under $3 and 2 lb sacks of oranges for under $3… buy 2 baskets from the dollar store, a sack of apples, a sack of oranges, and some bananas… make a nice fruit basket… should be about $5 each, but it will be appreciated!

Someone gave me one of these last year and I liked it so much I started giving them this year. Take any plain votive candle holder (available at craft stores) and tie some nice Christmas ribbon on it or decorate it and then put one of the battery operated votive candles inside. I got a package of 6 battery operated votive candles at Walmart for about $2. You can even personalize them with a nice tag around the ribbon or use silver or gold ribbon so they can be used year-round. Good luck and Merry Christmas!

I worked in daycare, and honestly, it’s the thought that counts. Not every parent gives you a present, so when you get one it shows that you are special to that family. I recieved ornaments, a mug with the childs picture on it, home made cookies, candy, gift cards, etc. A good suggestion would be a small ornament and a card that you let him sign (color on) and you write something sweet. The mug with the childs picture was absolutely adoable, so if you have money for that, it’s such a cute present to recieve. Mine was filled with Hershey Kisses :) So nice of you to think of your daycare teachers on Chrsitmas!
